Day 18

Each day a new post will allow you to comment on how God is teaching you and how your focus on prayer is making a difference. Feel free to share prayer requests. If they're for another person, please have their permission before posting. And share how God is answering your prayers as well.

Let's use this daily and regularly to encourage one another!

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer £and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. - Acts 1:12-14

This quote from John Wesley was in my devotional today:
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.”

Amen

Prayer request -

On the Outer Banks we have a huge population of hurting students. Student who are hurting from divorce, family tension, domestic abuse, eating disorders, cutting, drug addiction, substance abuse, and the list could go on and on.

For over a year and a half I have been praying that a ministry would start at NHC to minister to these students. It would be a huge outreach. Life Hurts, God Heals is an incredible ministry that is changing teenagers lives. In California judges are actually sentencing students to this program and LHGH is a ministry done in churches!

I'm praying that God will raise up a team of 4 emotionally healthy adults, 2 men and 2 women, to join me in this ministry. To be honest this type of ministry isn't part of my SHAPE but I see the incredible need.

If you want to know more about LHGH please go to the following link and red the article and download the video and then pray about how God would have you be involved:

Today I am praising the Lord for the blessing of Godly friends. So far this week I have spoken to and prayed over the phone with four such women. " Do not lay open your heart to everyone, but in all your affairs, seek the counsel of those who are wise and who fear God. From a devotional reading in The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis

From Tom Lee:
"Sandra’s niece Shannon was pregnant a couple of
Weeks ago and lost the baby, she thought. Turns out it was a tubular pregnancy. She had
Surgery today and is not doing well. She has been throwing up since surgery and has
Blood clots in her abdomen."
