HURRICANE IKE 2008
VOLUNTEER FORM
NC Baptist Men of the Baptist State Convention of NC
BAYTOWN, TX

Instructions for those who would like to help.
First of all, thank you for your desire to help those in need. Our purpose is to help them in the name of Jesus Christ. We go as those who show the love of Christ. The following is a description of what we will be doing and how you can be involved.

1. Volunteers are needed during the week and on weekends. We need to know how many are coming and arrival/departure times. Teams may choose to spend the night Saturday and worship with a congregation on Sunday morning.
2. You will check in with the Coordinator upon arrival. Specific work assignments will be assigned to teams.
3. Nature of the work: primarily TEAROUT/MUDOUT. Some chainsaw work, but limited. Teams MUST bring their own tools and sheets and towels. You will receive a "What to Bring list".
4. COST: There is no charge to volunteers. Room is dormitory style. Bring your own bed. Showers are provided.

Participation:
1. Once you have put a team together, you need to notify NCBM as soon as possible. Once we have received your information, we will send you more detailed information.
2. Be precise in the number of volunteers you report, including male/female so we do not overbook.
3. Age: 18 AND ABOVE (15-17 with parent) YOUTH GROUPS MUST HAVE A 1:3 RATIO OF ADULT TO YOUTH, AND AT LEAST 2 SKILLED PEOPLE PER 10 YOUTH.
4. Please provide us a fax number and/or email so we can get this information to you in a timely manner.

Greg Avery on Nightline tonight?

Greg called me an hour ago to say he was interviewed by ABC and could be on Nightline tonight from Baytown, TX. Greg is leading a feeding team, delivering 80,000 meals per day to survivors of Ike.

He told me he said, "Hey to Nags Head Church" on camera. But then, there are the editors...

Pray for Greg and all those from many agencies helping the victims of the hurricane. And pray for their witness for Jesus to be clear.
